A benchmark of Australian fine wine, The Armagh sits at the pinnacle of Jim Barry’s portfolio and is widely regarded as one of the most powerful and collectible Shiraz releases in the country.
The 2021 vintage is a showstopper. A cool, even growing season delivered fruit of extraordinary concentration and poise. In the glass, it’s a deep, saturated crimson with aromas of blackberry compote, black cherry, dark chocolate, and exotic spice, layered with hints of cedar and graphite from extended maturation in fine French oak. The palate is opulent and expansive, cascading with plush black fruits, liquorice, and mocha, framed by beautifully integrated tannins and remarkable depth. While irresistible now with decanting, it will continue to evolve gracefully over the next three to four decades.

The winery writes "The 2021 bursts from the glass displaying vibrant blueberry, redcurrant and purple fruits with sage, violets, licorice and kalamata olive tapenade playing a supporting role. The dark purple pastille fruit stains the palate before a flush of cranberry, blackberries and orange oil perfume explode in the mouth."
