Petane Station are a seriously boutique producer based in Esk Valley, Hawke's Bay. Viticulturalist and winemaker Phil works with his graphic designer wife (and their two young children on hand as eager grape samplers) to produce lovingly crafted, small batch wines.
Taken from the German words 'Edel' (noble) and 'Zwicker' (blend), Edelzwicker is a centuries old Alsatian term for a wine produced from a blend of the noble grape varieties picked from the same vineyard on the same day, producing a pure expression of vintage and terroir. A delicate light yellow in the glass, this sauvignon blanc dominant blend offers lush aromas of peach and persimmon, and with bright acidity and a dry finish, will be the perfect match for fresh seafood. Enjoy this lovely drop lightly chilled in the warm sunshine.

The winery writes "Handpicked from a vineyard in Whatatutu, 45km north of Gisborne, this wine has four varieties of nobel grapes - sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, albarino and pinot gris. Edelzwicker is a centuries old, Alsatian wine term, taken from the German words 'Edel' (noble) and 'Zwicker' (blend). The result - a lush, succulent wine with flavours of golden peach, cinnamon and juicy green pear with a sweet, tangy orange zest finish."
