Tasting Notes

Yalumba Y Series Pinot Noir 2024 - The winery writes "Bright red in colour with a purple hue. There is an abundance of red fruit aromas, including cherry, wild berry and strawberry with purple flowers, a hint of pink peppercorn and fennel-like spice. Drawn in by the rich fruitfulness, the palate is vibrant with fresh flavours of cherry, wild berry, beetroot and cranberry, leading to a silky tannin finish."

Yalumba Y Series Shiraz Viognier 2021/22 - The winery writes "Bright crimson in colour, with luscious and exotic aromas of cherries, boysenberry and hints of white pepper and violets. A full bodied palate that is framed by flavours of sweet Turkish delight and cherries. Velvety tannins provide a perfect complement to the cherry ripe finish which shows the synergy between the Shiraz and Viognier."

Yalumba Y Series Merlot 2021/22 - Cameron Douglas MS writes "Ripe, dark fruited bouquet with sweet Doris plums and vanilla smoky wood tones, some violets and dark clay mineral qualities. A core of dark fruit flavours from plums to back berries, there’s a ripe sweet quality from the fruit accentuated by the influences of wood and alcohol. Moderate acidity layers in some frshness. A balanced even wine ready to drink from 2023 through 2026+."

Yalumba Y Series Shiraz 2023 - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Upfront and beautifully aromatic, the bouquet shows Black Doris plum, wild berry, rich floral and warm spice aromas. The palate displays excellent weight and fleshy texture, well supported by fine-grained tannins. Approachable and highly enjoyable."

Yalumba Y Series Tempranillo 2022 - The distributor writes "Bright crimson in colour. Aromas of rose petal and lavender with a hint of peppery spice, dark cherry, mulberries and dark plum. One taste and the wine draws you in with mulberry, dark cherry, wild berries and dark chocolate with a hint of cinnamon. A bright and juicy Tempranillo with smooth, lingering, cocoa powder tannins on the finish."

Yalumba Y Series Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 - The winery writes "Sumptuous and fruity with aromas and flavours of blackcurrant, mint, toffee and sea spray. The palate is full of varietal fruit character and soft textures with a rich mouthfeel. Y Series Cabernet Sauvignon is a generous and friendly wine that shows why this varietal is one of the world’s best-known and enjoyed varieties"
