In one of the most hotly anticipated wine releases of the year, Yalumba has unveiled The Caley Coonawarra & Barossa Cabernet & Shiraz 2019. This important wine is the pinnacle of a Yalumba's 150+ years of winemaking experience.
The Caley, a blend featuring both Coonawarra and Barossa fruit, honours Fred Caley Smith, the grandson of Yalumba's founder Samuel Smith; a horticulturist who had a profound impact on the development of Yalumba's orchards and vineyards.
The Caley is a blend of Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon and Barossa Shiraz - a classic marriage of two noble varieties and two great Australian wine regions. James Halliday has called a previous vintage of The Caley a “truly magnificent wine”, scoring it 98 points. He also noted "Its packaging outdoes any red wine in the Australian market today."
This important wine has set a new benchmark for Australian red wine.

Christina Pickard, Wine Enthusiast writes "A blend of old-vine fruit from both Coonawarra and Barossa, this is an elegant and understated icon bottling that's still very young. Plump berries are at the core, with leafy Cab-like edges, leather, gentle peppery spice and a slight smoky nuance."
