Named after winemaker Dave Mackintosh's great grandmother, Annabella Mackenzie, Kenzie Wines is a celebration of contemporary winemaking. After fifteen years crafting acclaimed wines in Victoria’s Yarra Valley under the Arfion and Salo labels, Dave felt the pull of home, returning to Aotearoa to create distinctive, modern wines from the expressive soils of Hawke’s Bay.
Beautiful Strangers is where creativity and character collide - a bold, aromatic orange blend made from three varieties grown on two certified organic vineyards in Hawke’s Bay. A vibrant mix of 56% pinot gris, 29% chardonnay and 18% sauvignon blanc, these varieties come together from opposite sides of the flavour spectrum to create something truly unique. The nose is lifted and expressive, with floral, red berry, orange zest and musk aromas alongside subtle herbal, savoury notes from the skin contact. The palate is juicy yet dry upfront, evolving into layers of stone fruit and tangy grapefruit, before finishing fresh and saline with gentle tannin grip. Unfined and unfiltered.
