In the first week of March Te Mata Estate releases the new vintage of Coleraine. This is always the most important event on the New Zealand wine calendar and Coleraine 2016 follow recent vintages with another superlative, world class example of fine red winemaking. Stylistically the 2016, though not as overtly plush as the 2014, shares the same fruit forward characters and is laden with ripe fruits. Like the 2015 it has a fine seam of Bordeaux-esque pencil lead on the palate but the tannins are much finer and softer. While this is another 'approachable' Coleraine, the palate drive, length and structure are all there to ensure it will be another star in the cellar.
For the third year in a row allocations of this most sought after wine are extraordinarily tight and we expect that this will be your only opportunity to secure this wine at our preferential pre-release offer.
