The winery writes "Saturated, dark ruby with a neon-purple edge, Coleraine ’17 tantalizes with fragrant ripe cherry and fresh, black plum aromatics. The bouquet blossoms over a silky palate laden with lavender, sandalwood, cigar box, juniper and wild blackberry. With typically-refined tannins and a modern, pure, ripe-fruit freshness, Coleraine ’17 is energetic, supple and lithe. Balanced, and on point, Coleraine ’17 dances across the senses now, and will do for years to come – classically Coleraine".
Michael Cooper writes "This is a full-coloured, mouth-filling red with notably concentrated, well ripened blackcurrant, plum and spice flavours, braced by firm tannins, and impressive harmony.S ince the debut 1982 vintage, Coleraine has stood out for its fragrance, complexity and subtlety. Coleraine from 2017 is as classy as ever."
Huon Hooke writes "Deep, bright red colour with a lot of purple in its hue. The bouquet very fresh and aromatic, delightfully bright and cabernet-cassisy. Full-bodied, supple and the tannins are fully ripe and yet structurally excellent. Cedary, too. This is an elegant, tightly packed, refreshing wine with good acidity and fine-grained but persistent tannins. High potential. A stand-out wine."
