Pegasus Bay feature in any conversation of New Zealand's finest producers, and the Donaldson family have been producing wine in Waipara since the 1970s. Located in North Canterbury, Waipara is one of New Zealand's smallest but fastest growing wine regions, and with warm days and cool nights, it's the perfect home for premium pinot. It's not hard to see why this superb Pinot Noir has gained such rave reviews, and whilst drinking excellently now, this bottle-aged beauty will continue to cellar for years to come.

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Superbly complex and sensually appealing, the wine shows dark berry, cedar, cured meat, olive and warm spice aromas. The palate displays excellent weight and richness, while remaining refined and stylish. Mouthfilling and splendidly long on the finish with a velvety flow."
Cameron Douglas MS writes "A youthful bright appearance with a core of ruby leading to a just fading rim. Aromas of primary red berry fruits including dark cherry and plums, plenty of barrel spice and bottle development complexities. The beginnings of secondary aromas with a whisper of date and toasty spices layer in complexity and depth. Still youthful and firm on the palate with textures from tannins and acidy leading the mouthfeel. Core fruit flavours mirror the bouquet with equal impressions of plums and cherry. An excellent example, just a little bit dry though easily marries with gently salty earthy food. Best drinking from 2023 through 2029+."
The winery writes "Its colour is deep ruby with an amber fringe. The upfront aromas and flavours suggest raspberry, pomegranate, black cherry, purple plum, chocolate and spice. These overlie a savoury layer of barbecued meats, grilled mushrooms and black olive tapenade, which has become more prominent with age. It is richly textured and mouth filling with powerful but velvety tannins that flow evenly through the palate, helping to draw out the lingering aftertaste."
