Named after winemaker Dave Mackintosh's great grandmother, Annabella Mackenzie, Kenzie Wines is a celebration of contemporary winemaking. After fifteen years crafting acclaimed wines in Victoria’s Yarra Valley under the Arfion and Salo labels, Dave felt the pull of home, returning to Aotearoa to create distinctive, modern wines from the expressive soils of Hawke’s Bay.
This 100% Merlot rosé is a deeply characterful expression of that vision. Unfined, unfiltered, and minimally handled, it was fermented in barrel and received only a gentle addition of sulphur shortly before bottling. Aromas of pomegranate, red berries, mandarin peel and green pear skin lead into a palate that is dry, textural and beautifully balanced, with a seamless interplay of tannin, bitterness and acidity.

The winery writes "Pomegranate, red berry, mandarin and green pear skin. The barrel fermentation has added an enticing savoury, wet river stone character that also comes through on the palate. This wine is dry, textural and delicious to drink with a beautiful play between tannin, bitterness and acidity."
