92/100 | Stephen Wong MW, The Real Review
This is not your everyday Chenin Blanc. Made from certified organic fruit at Two Terraces vineyard, it is a bold and textured take that blends bright citrus with subtle spice and real structure. Two clones were handpicked on the full moon and treated differently. One was direct pressed for a clean and linear ferment, while the other was fermented on skins to build texture and bring out deeper notes.
The final blend is zesty and alive, with layers of green apple, mandarin, honey and a touch of herbal funk. It is dry and energetic, with gentle phenolic grip and a creamy edge from time on lees. This is a wine for natural wine fans and curious drinkers alike. Vibrant, raw and quietly complex.
This is a natural wine - don't be worried if there is a bit of sediment at the bottom or if it's bit cloudy, that's how it's supposed to be!

Stephen Wong writes "Luminous, hazy yellow. Subtle Manuka honey nose with some reductive funk which lifts off to reveal intriguing, pithy mandarin, rosemary and juniper aromas. Definitely minimal intervention, the palate enters very light, with almost transparent flavours of spiced apple, clover honey and green olive. Completely dry with gently grippy phenolics which build on the back-palate, not quite as firm as an amber wine but clearly made with skin fermentation. This wine sneaks up on you and despite its lighter style and subtle fruit, will likely develop more weight and expression in the mid-term. The distinct flavour profile and chewy phenolics are more for ‘natural wine’ lovers or adventurous drinkers rather than those looking for a more traditional chenin blanc."
