SMALL PARCEL WINES FROM ONE OF HAWKES BAY'S GREATEST WINEMAKING TALENTS.
Rod Easthope forged his reputation during his years as Head Winemaker at Craggy Range. These days his focus is on Easthope Winegrowers where he makes small parcel wines of the very highest calibre. The ethos behind Easthope's wines is to put the work in to the vineyard and let the quality of fruit speak for itself - and they have more than achieved that goal.
Vinted from 34 year old Mendoza vines, this Chardonnay possesses considerable flavour and a natural balance. The fruit is hand picked, whole bunch pressed and fermented in oak puncheons, unlocking the mineral and floral elements from the fruit. Unctuous on the palate, this wine has a long finish that will satisfy lovers of full-bodied chardonnay. It is drinking well now, or will cellar beautifully for up to ten years. Outstanding.
