GOLD MEDAL 95/100 | Great Australian Shiraz Challenge 2021
92/100 'Premium' | Cameron Douglas MS

All we can say is WOW! Vinted from 100+year old vines, this is powerhouse Barossa in the traditional sense; a massive, concentrated wine with layers of blackberry / blueberry characters and spicy French oak. The mouthfeel is silken and rounded and the finish is perfectly pitched - fresh and firm. After one glass you will know why it is swimming in critical acclaim.

If you're a fan of big Barossa reds and like to trade up to something truly special every now and then, this is the Shiraz deal you've been waiting for.

Tasting Notes

Cameron Douglas MS writes "Dark red berry aromas lead to scents of toasty wood and baking spices of anise and licorice then red currants and a touch of rapsberry. Youthful and enticing. Very fruity with a core of dark berries and sweet wood flavours with vanilla and clove then licorice and ansie. Dry on the palate with plush textures with contrasting tannins and just the right level of acidity. An abundance of tannins layer in mouthfeel and finish."

The winery writes "Here is a ripe yet restrained profile of fruit purity; the palate is clean, clear and defined - etched minerality and savouriness runs in fine powdery tannic layers. This is Barossa that is beautiful not brazen; beguiling not boisterous; a balance not a bomb, yet still indubitably - indubitably - Barossa."
