93/100 | Halliday Wine Companion
92/100 'Premium' | Cameron Douglas MS
92/100 | James Suckling
From Tour de Force producers Astrolabe, this chardonnay proves that they aren't just good at sauvvy. Ripe with prominent stonefruit flavours it delivers a satisfying glass. Hand-picked fruit is whole-cluster pressed for finesse, then wild fermented in barrel with plenty of solids to build texture and complexity. Aged on lees in French oak puncheons with regular bâtonnage and full malolactic fermentation, it gains richness, subtle toasty notes, and a creamy, structured finish. Hook in and try some for yourself.

Cameron Douglas MS writes "A youthful expression still with lots of vibrant aromas and flavours. Apple and citrus fruits, some leesy pith -like qualities then peach and mineral, white clay and stone. Nice weight and creaminess with a core of fruit flavours that mirror the bouquet plus a stony mineral layer for complexity and depth. The oak statement requires some cellar time to integrate and even out through the palate. Well made, just needs some time. Best drinking from late 2026 through 2032."
The winery writes "Some ripe melon and dried stone fruits with vanilla and butter notes and a subtle mealiness. A wine of very elegant texture with stone fruit, vanilla creaminess, toasty oak, pleasing weight and a long, dry and mineral finish. This wine will continue to develop rewarding flavour and bottle complexity with aging."
