Winemaker Simon Waghorn writes "All my wines tend to be on the dry end, but this one is absolutely crystalline, bone dry — nothing left. It has a lovely briny, salty, savoury finish as a result, which speaks a bit about the sea nearby. It’s a great wine with oysters on the half shell, and it’s a wine that really appeals to a lot of people around the world that would normally profess not to be huge Marlborough sauvignon drinkers and may have more European drinking sensibilities. We love it because it’s so unique. It’s a briny, flavoursome, very intense, beautiful wine."
Cameron Douglas MS writes "A rather fantastic bouquet with layers of salinity and dried herb, spice and ripe citrus fruits. There’s also a peach and white pineapple fruit suggestions as well minerality and dried florals. On the palate, a dry wine with a textured mouthfeel from acidity, super fine fruit tannins and some lees, freshness and style. Then the fruit flavours return adding core flavours to a fine finish."
Stephen Wong MW writes "Perfumed with delicate floral notes over ripe citrus, this taut and linear sauvignon blanc unfolds on the palate to savoury tomato leaf and flint as it proceeds towards the long, slightly salty dry finish. A delicate and detailed style which is very light on its feet."
