A MASSIVE, MONSTER SHIRAZ OPPORTUNITY
FIVE STARS 93/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
92/100 'Premium' | Cameron Douglas MS
What a score! The previous vintage of this giant killer Barossa Shiraz was included in Wine Spectator's TOP 100 WINES of 2022 (that is a BIG deal!), AND it picked up a massive 98pts in Winestate's annual Shiraz Tasting - leaving a host of heavy hitting big brands in its wake and we expect the 2022 vintage to follow strong suit.
This is a wonderful example of modern Barossa winemaking - a moreish shiraz that is approachable, full-bodied and fleshy. The palate flows beautifully, and you can expect savoury dark fruits and spice with a soft finish and subtle texture. Lovely, rewarding wine with real presence and power - and a total bargain by any measuring stick.

A moreish Barossa Shiraz that is approachable, full-bodied and fleshy. Deep and brooding with aromas of dark fruits, red spices, anise and ripe cherries, the palate flows with even texture towards a soft finish.
Cameron Douglas MS writes "Aromas and flavours of licorice and black currant, toasty vanilla laved wood scents, pepper spice and a natural earth and leather quality. Firm and dry on the palate, youthful with a core of ripe blackcurrant and ark berry fruit flavours, some floral highlights. Acidity sets the backbone of this wine in place with ripe fruit flavours for contrast and depth. Well made with a fairly lengthy finish and offering great drinking from 2023 through 2027+."
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Charming and enticing, the fragrant bouquet shows Black Doris plum, blueberry, violet and hazelnut aromas with a hint of spicy overtone. The palate is equally satisfying with succulent fruit intensity together with velvety texture and silky tannins, finishing persistent and delectable."
The winery writes "Deep, dark, purple red in colour. Deliciously brooding aromatics of ripe plum, spicy red currants, anise and dark chocolate. A complex wine with savoury spices, ironstone and lots of dark fruits. This is a full bodied, generously flavoured classic Barossa Shiraz."
