Oraterra is an exciting new boutique producer, quickly gaining attention for both its thoughtful wines and strong sense of identity. Each release is finished with striking label artwork by Leanne Williams, adding a distinctive, contemporary edge that reflects the care and creativity behind the wines themselves. Winemaker Wilko Lam and his team proved their mettle navigating Martinborough’s testing 2023 season, crafting wines of precision and poise against the odds. In contrast, the 2024 vintage offered a far more generous hand.

Concentrated and luxuriously textured, this pinot gris unfolds in elegant layers of white florals, ripe pear, fig, and red apple. There’s a beautiful interplay between richness and freshness, yet lifted by a vibrant line of acidity. Hand-harvested fruit was carefully pressed and settled before being racked to large 1,000L oak foudre, where wild yeast fermentation and ageing have imparted both complexity and a subtle, harmonious structure.
