Valli is the vision of legendary winemaker Grant Taylor, a pioneer of Otago winemaking since 1993. In 1998, Grant founded Valli to showcase the unique personalities of Central Otago’s sub-regions – Gibbston, Bannockburn, Bendigo, and the Waitaki Valley in North Otago. Each wine is crafted as a pure expression of its place, telling the story of its vineyard and season.
The 2023 Gibbston Pinot Noir is an exceptional vintage – profound, seductive, and brimming with the hallmarks of Gibbston. It offers vivid red fruit, lifted floral fragrance, and layers of earthy complexity, all carried with remarkable length and precision. A true reflection of this cool-climate site, it’s a wine of elegance and persistence, rewarding now and promising even greater depth with time in the cellar.

Candice Chow writes "An exceptional vintage of this Gibbston Pinot Noir. Profound and seductive, exhibiting the Gibbston hallmarks of red fruit, fragrance and earthy complexities with length and precision."
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "It's totally seductive on the nose with stunning fruit purity and perfume, showing ripe cherry, floral, mushroom, thyme, and toasted almond notes, followed by a finely flowing palate that's wonderfully rounded and plump. Tannins are fine and beautifully infused, making it superbly structured with a sustained, refined finish. At its best: 2026 to 2038."
