Grava is where Martinborough’s wild, gravelly heart meets the soul of Spain. Founded by Alistair Gardner and Karla Falloon, this small vineyard channels decades of Old World experience into wines that pulse with energy, texture, and place. From the stony terraces of the Ruamahanga River, each hand-harvested wine tells a story of sun-warmed stones, thriving ecosystems, and a deep connection between land and craft. Vibrant, expressive, and unmistakably alive, Grava is as much an experience as it is a wine.
A rare and seriously intriguing drop, the España Vino Blanc 2024 is a true cross-continental creation. This wine is made in Spain using (predominantly) the Godello grape from the country’s northwest, then brought back to New Zealand. With only 804 bottles produced, it’s a special find, and we're really excited about it. Fresh, dry and beautifully crisp, it delivers a vibrant hit of acidity balanced by subtle texture with more depth than your typical light white. It’s effortlessly drinkable, made for warm days, chilled glasses, and seafood on the table. A Spanish wine with a distinctly Kiwi sensibility, this is one to snap up while you can.

The winery writes "Fresh, dry and vibrant, the Vino Blanco opens with bright citrus, green apple and a hint of stone fruit. Crisp acidity drives the palate, balanced by a subtle texture that adds depth and interest. Clean and refreshing with a mineral edge, it’s an easy-drinking style that shines alongside fresh seafood or simply well chilled on a warm day."
