93/100 | Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews
92/100 | Cameron Douglas MS
92/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
Classy Hawke's Bay Sauvignon. Crisp, fresh and laden with tropical / citrus fruits, this lovely wine shows softer acidity than the ubiquitous Marlborough model, and a semillon like richness on the mid-palate. Deliciously vibrant wine from one the greatest Hawke's Bay producers.
Cameron Douglas MS writes "A classic bouquet of ripe fleshy stone fruits laced with nettles and gooseberry, fresh herbs and fruit spice. On the palate a brief satin touch then a wave of acidity and fruit flavours that reflect the bouquet - peach and apple, apricot and tropical fruit moments."
Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews writes "Bright, pale straw-yellow, even colour throughout. The nose is softly full, with sweet aromas of melon, peach and passionfruit underlying tomato vines and saline. Medium-light bodied, aromas of melon, peach and passionfruit interweave subtle herb and tomato vines and linger with fine spice and salinity. Sweet, ripe-flavoured fruit forms a round core; tangy, vibrant acidity provides balance and good energy, flowing with dusty phenolics left a silky mouthfeel. This elegant Sauvignon Blanc flows along a silky palate, shows generous fruit and tangy acid balance."
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "It’s beautifully fragrant on the nose showing white flesh stone fruit, lemon/lime peel and fresh fig notes, followed by a succulent palate delivering splendid fruit purity combined with fine texture and bright acidity, finishing lingering and delectable."
The winery writes " Gentle flavours and aromas of lime, citrus and lemongrass compliment the distinct aroma of stone-fruit. A mineral element gives presence to a Sancerre-like textural character in the wine. The fresh acidity is balanced by a tiny amount of retained sweetness."
