FIVE STARS 95/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
The Gimblett Gravels wine growing region in Hawkes Bay has become synonymous with fine syrah production and Trinity Hill have long been at the forefront of the the regions development with this important variety. This release is very perfumed, supple and spicy; a very good example of the pretty / feminine style that the Hawke's Bay Syrah model is moving towards. Excellent.
The winery writes "The 2019 Syrah has a deep and youthful vibrant crimson colour. Wild raspberry, blueberry, cracked pepper and hints of vanilla bean show on the nose. Powerful and balanced ripe tannins give the wine great savoury structure."
Sam Kim writes "Wonderfully fruited and composed, the wine shows blackberry, sweet cherry, floral, warm spice and game characters on the nose. It's concentrated and plump offering terrific fruit power and persistency backed by loads of polished tannins, finishing impressively long and refined."
