Since 1998 Tohu have been creating wines that capture the essence of the region the fruit is grown in and this unoaked Wairau Valley Chardonnay is a brilliant expression of that philosophy.
This richly textured unoaked Chardonnay is a beautiful showcase of purity and finesse. Lifted aromatics of bright citrus and white stonefruit leap from the glass, layered with subtle nutty, butterscotch complexity from extended lees ageing and malolactic fermentation. The palate is generous yet finely balanced, with juicy peach and ripe melon complemented by a gentle, creamy texture that adds depth without overshadowing the freshness. There’s an effortless flow here, carrying through to a long, smooth, and beautifully focused finish.
Incredible value for money here.

The winery writes "Made without oak but full of character, this unoaked Chardonnay from Marlborough’s Rapaura sub-region is bright, creamy and expressive. Extended lees contact and malolactic fermentation build weight and softness, while stainless steel preserves citrus and stonefruit purity. Balanced and textural, this wine offers a clean, modern style with impressive depth."
