Te Mata Estate's Coleraine releases are a thing of legend, representing New Zealand winemaking at its absolute pinnacle. Described as "New Zealand's greatest red wine", the name Coleraine is synonymous with power, finesse and length.
Please note that this wine is label damaged on the back, but the wine has been correctly and we can vouch for their cellar provenance. Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Following the majestic 2013 offering, this is another phenomenal wine of sophistication and sublime seduction. Fabulous aroma of cassis, cigar box, violet and toasted almond on the nose. The palate delivers awesome concentration and weight, together with silky texture and fleshy mouthfeel, while remaining elegant and refreshing. Tannins are fine, chalky and exquisitely proportioned, making the wine classically structured. Once again Coleraine offers spectacular complexity, refinement and presence with an undeniable potential to evolve magnificently. This is back to back perfection. A blend of 60% cabernet sauvignon, 28% merlot and 12% cabernet franc."
Huon Hooke writes "Very Bordeaux-like tobacco leaf, cedar and restrained fruit bouquet of great complexity and charm. Elegant, streamlined, very stylish and beautifully balanced wine. Only medium to full in body. Super-fine tannins. A top vintage of a great wine."
