Huon Hooke writes "Medium to full purple/red colour. Good hue, but rather light. Pleasant cedary red fruits and slightly floral aromas; bright, fresh and clean. Very elegant, medium-bodied and balanced; fine texture and powdery tannins in nice harmony."
Bob Campbell MW writes "Lovely big cassis and plum fruit flavours with hints of mint, floral and spice interwoven with classy oak. Fruit-focused, chewy red with a lengthy finish. deliciously drinkable now but with plenty of ripe tannins. Clearly a great vintage for Awatea."
