92 POINTS | Cameron Douglas MS
This is very good wine, a rich and concentrated merlot that's packed with flavour and palate detail. Layers of dark plummy fruits flood the mouth with a lavish dollop of wonderfully creamy acidity rounding out the conversation. This quality release is now showing beautifully and coming into its perfect drinking window. Recommended.
The winery writes "Intense dark cassis, mocha and liquorice aromas with sweet scented oak notes. Fleshy tannins supported by juicy dark plum flavours and a long warm finish. Recommended serving temperature 18-20°C. Enjoy with juicy steak, roast beef, wild game, slow cooked stews and rich cheeses."
Cameron Douglas MS writes "The core and heart of the bouquet is Merlot with aromas and flavours of plums and dark cherry, clove and vanilla, dark wood spices and brown sugar. The wine is dry, but seems only just so with a creamy warmth due to the alcohol and intensity of fruit. The wine is in balance with a decent layer of acidity, abundant yet easy to assimilate tannins and even persistent complexity. Well made with a lengthy finish."
