The Frugal Farmer red blend is created by combining early-picked grenache and mataro, which is co-fermented with the leftover Alicante Bouchet skins from Rockford's legendary cult classic rosé. This results in a deliciously spicy and vibrant lighter-bodied, lower-alochol red.

Huon Hooke, The Real Review writes "Deep red-purple colour, bright and intense; the wine has a fresh, clean plum, seed-spice, pepper bouquet with a trace of peppermint, while the palate is medium weight and soft textured with fine tannins and seamless flow. Young and promising, yet to build the complexity that is coming, but it already drinks well young and has lots of promise. Great value."
