91/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit "Beautifully composed and poised, offering attractive vibrant flavours, finishing persistent and lively."
17.5/20 | Raymond Chan
Poggio Anima unashamedly call themselves the kings of the 'week night wine' and creating wines for 'drinking not thinking" has been the key to their success. This is a good example of Grillo with it's trademark nutty characters overlaying flavours of ripe citrus and some nice tropical hints. It's freshness and lightly oily texture make it a perfect partner for salads and seafood.
Sam Kim writes "It is delightfully fruited and delicately lifted on the nose showing grapefruit, apple, lemon grass and subtle almond notes, followed by a juicy palate that is finely textured and elegantly expressed. Beautifully composed and poised, offering attractive vibrant flavours, finishing persistent and lively. At its best: now to 2020."
Raymond Chan writes ". This has good aromatic weight and presence. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is soft and rounded with a restrained heart showing flavours of yellow stonefruits and an array of nutty notes. The wine carries smoothly to a light, nuanced finish."
