The essence of Plantation's Dark Rum is the depth of its palate and its utilisation of double aging. This expression comprises the elegant rums of Trinidad, which are distilled then aged in their tropical climate in American oak barrels under high heat, before traveling to France. Once they've made it to Europe, the cellar master decides on less “high esters” for the Trinidadian rum and then blends in old Jamaica rums (aged 15 - 20 yrs.)
Very strong on the nose with coffee and raisin notes the most powerful elements, along with a hefty slug of hogo. On the palate, it’s more easygoing, but offers mushroom, more coffee grounds, and a slightly sweaty finish.
