Cameron Douglas MS writes "Aromas of honeyed peaches, lime skin and makrut leaf. There's no mistaking the bite of acidity and apple and citrus flavours as the wine touches the palate; a backbone of acidity drives these throughout the palate; leaving behind flavours of honeysuckle and peach, lemon verbena and Granny Smith apples. Lengthy, refreshing, salivating and delightful. An excellent aperitif wine with best drinking from the day of purchase through 2034+."
David Walker Bell, Wine Folio writes "One of a few expressions of the varietal from the North Canterbury pioneers. A pale gold colour in the glass, with a voluminous bouquet that floods the senses with notes of green apple, lime, yuzu, cucumber, nougat, lemon, honey and jasmine. A touch of carbon dioxide remains as a spritz on the tongue (in the German fashion) – adding energy and zip to the palate. A fine balance between tangy acidity and plushness from the fruit ripeness. Sitting at a level of mid-20s for residual sugar, it does seem more generous, with an unctuous richness and slightly waxy texture adding up to a wine that has depth, spine and brightness in equal parts. There’s usually a mineral edge to the wines from this producer, and the back of the palate shows that here, with a chalkiness and bite to the finish."
The winery writes "Upon release the colour is lemon-straw. The nose is an invigorating concoction of tropical, citrus and floral notes. Impressions of pineapple, passionfruit and mandarin lead the way, flanked by crunchy apple, apricot and lemon curd, with teases of honeysuckle and orange blossom. The mouthfeel is zesty and energised, displaying both richness and an elegant structure. A seam of refreshing acidity combined with a hint of spritzig compliment the wine’s body perfectly, leaving the imbiber to savour a lengthy and crisp, satisfying finish."
