94/100 FIVE STARS | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit. "Beautifully harmonious and soothing, this is charming and delectable".
This is fine methode traditionelle produced by the longstanding king of New Zealand sparkling wine, Daniel le Brun. Chardonnay dominant, this is richly styled, mouthfilling bubbles with plenty of fresh brioche flavours. It's superb - an elegant and sophisticated wine with real drive. It comes very highly recommended.
Cameron Douglas MS writes "Classic ‘old school’ style bouquet with aromas of toasted bread, cereal, ripe orchard fruits, starwberry and citrus. Dry, weighty, textured and complex on the palate. Flavours reflect the nose with precision especially strawberry and peach, the autolysis of lees gives flavour and complexity; the overall texture and length is appealing. Lengthy finish, balanced and ready."
The winery writes "Our award-winning No.1 Assemblé (pronounced “ah-som-blay”), means to bring together, to blend and to unite. The structure of Chardonnay, the finesse of Pinot Noir and the softness of Meunier have been brought together for a minimum of 18 months on lees, in the classic Méthode Traditionelle style, to create a wine with elegance, complexity and wide appeal. Composition: 60% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir, 5% Pinot Meunier."
This delicious methode traditionelle blows others out of the water.
