94 POINTS | Cameron Douglas MS
This wine has long been the darling of the cafes and restaurants that surround the Martinborough Square and it's so easy to see why. 100% Barrel fermentation and clever winemaking has produced a rich and opulent Chardonnay with layers of creamy stonefruits and spicy oak. Expect to be impressed.
The winery writes "A rich, complex Martinborough Chardonnay showing intense ripe stone fruit flavours underpinned by subtle spicy oak, malolactic and barrel fermentation characters, enhanced by a silky palate texture and a elegant lingering finish."
Cameron Douglas MS writes "Attractive bouquet of flowers and mineral, some oyster shell and ripe white fleshed stone fruits. There's a layer of oak with a raw cashew nut butter scent and finesse and charm. Youthful, fresh and delicious on the palate, dry with flavours of citrus and tree fruits, a core of minerality, a touch of gun-flint and mix of new and used barrel. Great acid line, a sense of place and time leading to long salivating finish."
