95/100 'Outstanding' | Cameron Douglas MS
The Millton Vineyard has gained world renown for this unique and classic grape variety. Lush, generous and quietly irresistible, this demi-sec Chenin Blanc from Millton’s coastal Te Arai vineyard celebrates Chenin in its most charming form.
Golden pear, ripe apple and honeyed stone fruit glide across the palate, layered with hints of citrus blossom and warm spice. The sweetness is front and centre - rounded, comforting and expressive, but always lifted by chenin’s signature acidity, giving the wine freshness, energy and a long, satisfying finish.

The winery writes "On the nose, there are hints of white flowers, beeswax, honey, ripe apricots, and apple. Like all wine from Te Arai, there is a brackish minerality that provides a framework to the wine and a lengthy finish supported by both sweetness and acidity."
Cameron Douglas MS writes "Fantastic bouquet with fresh and baked apple, white flowers, lanolin and wet wool, there’s a core on wet soil minerality. Vibrant, enticing and complex. Off-dry on the palate with a decent lick of sweetness, contrasting acidity melts away the RS to reveal flavours that reflect the bouquet ticking all the boxes of fruit and lanolin, there’s a waxy quality and core of mineral. A delicious wine with a lengthy finish. best drinking from day of purchase through 2030."
