A superstar. Knappstein have a long history of producing premium Clare Valley wine and own some of the best wine growing territory in the region. This remarkable 2020 shiraz is already picking up glowing reviews and is a textbook example of rewarding 'cool climate' shiraz. It's a big, dark, plush rendition with dark berry notes and layers of wonderfully attractive spice - a superb choice if you're looking for fulsome Aussie Shiraz that absolutely outperforms its asking price. Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Splendidly ripe and perfumed on the nose showing black/blueberry, violet, toasted spice and hazelnut characters, leading to a beautifully weighted palate offering velvety texture and plump mouthfeel. Generous and flavoursome with a lingering silky finish."
The winery writes "The 2020 Shiraz is full of brambles and blue/black fruits with a spicy lift. Layers of brooding dark fruits, spice and savoury characters are framed in fine oak. The sinewy tannin profile pulls the wine through to a long and moreish finish."
