Vermillion is a bright and refreshing expression of Sangiovese. It is light on its feet but full of character, with juicy red fruit, pomegranate, tart cherry and a gentle savoury note. The palate is crisp and lively, with a fine line of acidity and a soft tannin edge that gives it great drinkability.

The fruit comes from the certified organic Osawa vineyard in Mangatahi, Hawke’s Bay. It is made in two parts. Most of the Sangiovese is whole bunch pressed and treated like a rosé, while a smaller portion is fermented on skins to bring subtle structure and depth. A small amount of Chardonnay adds lift and brightness to the final blend.

This wine is all about freshness, purity and energy. It is made with no additions and is unfiltered. Serve slightly chilled and enjoy it as a light red or a fuller rosé. It is an honest and delicious take on a rare grape grown in a beautiful site.

This is a natural wine - don't be worried if there is a bit of sediment at the bottom or if it's bit cloudy, that's how it's supposed to be!
