FIVE STARS 93/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit '"Beautifully crafted and expressed."
94/100 | Cameron Douglas MS  "A delicious wine, ready from drinking from 2022 through 2028"
93/100 | Bob Campbell MW - "A real crowd-pleaser."

What a deal! This is blue-chip Wairarapa Pinot Noir with flavours firmly in the dark cherry spectrum with some 'tarry' oak and fresh acidity on the finish adding complexity and further interest. It's quite a bold, savoury release in the classic Wairarapa style, and exceptional value.

It has been built for the long haul and will certainly blossom with further age. Enjoy now or over the coming decade.

Tasting Notes

The winery writes "Red, purple hue. The nose has fragrant characters of blackberry and dark cherry with floral undertones. Beautifully balanced by savoury oak notes, and sage characters. The palate is refined and tight, with real texture. Fruits form early but the wine is carried by a lovely savoury tone and whole bunch structure and tannins."

Cameron Douglas MS writes "Really lovely bouquet, captivating, varietal and youthful with aromas of fresh cherry and dark plum, a savoury complexity with dried herb and silty mineral soil layers. Some fine toasty oak and moments of red flowers. On the palate - lots of texture and energy, a core of fruit flavours that reflect the nose. Firm coarse silk tannins and medium+ acidity along with a great fruit profile makes for a delicious wine, ready from drinking from 2022 through 2028."

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes"Expressing finesse and complexity with ripe plum, floral, clove and smoked game nuances, it’s supple and finely textured offering velvety texture and plump mouthfeel backed by polished tannins. Beautifully crafted and expressed."

Bob Campbell MW writes "An attractive mix of fruit and spice with plum, dark cherry, anise and a smattering of freshly chopped herbs supported by fine, ripe tannins. An appealing fruit-bomb style and a real crowd-pleaser. Offers value at this price."
