The Obliix Syrah Malbec Viognier 2022 is amongst a selection of the first wines released by Fistonich Family Vineyards. Not quite ready to retire, Sir George Fistonich - the winemaker known as 'the father of New Zealand wine' - established the Fistonich Family Vineyards in 2021 to continue his passion for winemaking and viticulture.
Made with the idea of an early release without sacrificing complexity, this blend is beautiful drinking. With a sweet, ripe bouquet accentuated by bright fruit flavours on the palate and long, silky finish, this is the perfect match for grilled salmon or roasted duck at your next get-together. Or stow it away in the cellar if you fancy, this wine will age beautifully as well. Pure class.

Vinted from a blend of 80% syrah, 12% malbec, 8% viognier.
Cameron Douglas MS writes "A bouquet of charm and character with the scents of blackcurrant and spice of the Syrah to a touch of chocolate and blackberry from the Malbec and floral lift plus elegance from the Viognier. Dry, spices and core red berry fruit flavours reflect the bouquet accentuated by acidity and firm tannins. Clove and vanilla, some softer brown spice qualities layer in complexity with the floral tones of viognier lifting palate. Well made, ready to drink with food or age a little longer."
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Sweetly ripe and elegantly perfumed, the bouquet shows red plum, rich floral, olive and nutmeg aromas, leading to a beautifully rounded palate offering bright fruit flavours with silky texture, finishing long and soothing. Beautifully harmonious and balanced with finesse and lovely fruit purity."
