Born in Japan. Bred in Scotland. A fresh approach to Malt Whisky.
Firkin describe themselves as 'a tad zany and a bit mischievious' and we can see why. Founder Mike Collings has forty years experience in the whisky world and has worked on big names such as Johnnie Walker. But now he's done with being sensible and now devotes his time to making these exciting new creations.
To make the Firkin 49, Mike turned to the Tullibardine Distillery founded (just like Mike) in 1949. Mike took a 2012 Tullibabardine whisky matured in a first fill Bourbon barrel and then matured it in ex-sherry custom casks, combining a great dram with the magic of nutty Amontillado and rich Oloroso sherries. A Firkin charmer indeed!

This is a cracker. It’s kind of long but narrow and jam-packed with creamy butterscotch toffee, crisp malt and some fruit oak. It hangs around with a tad of cinnamon and sweet biscuit.
