Rod Easthope forged his reputation during his years as Head Winemaker at Craggy Range. These days his focus is on Easthope Winegrowers where he makes small parcel wines of the very highest calibre. Much of his production is sold in Europe so we were thrilled when he offered us an exclusive parcel of this wonderful Hawkes Bay blend.

2015 was a wonderful vintage in the Bay and this delightful Merlot Cab Franc shows the benefits of an ideal growing season and a master winemaker. What a gem. Fragrant and perfectly proportioned, this lovely wine offers the savoury profiles and interest normally seen in significantly higher price brackets.  It's an immediately attractive proposition now but will reward those who choose to cellar over the coming decade.

We think this will go down as one of the Hawkes Bay red wine buys of the year. Climb in.
