Winemaker Rod Easthope writes "The Skeetfield Vineyard, owned by Denis and Sally Gunn, has produced multiple Trophy winning Chardonnay wines. The grapes are hotly fought over by many well-known wineries. We were fortunate to secure a few rows from this impressive terroir and sculpted the viticulture to our unique requirements. This Chardonnay draws on inspiration from top end Chablis, but with abundant Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay fruit at its core. Aromas of gunflint, white fleshed peach, and lemon blossom spring forth. The palate possesses great weight, texture, balance and length. Can be enjoyed now or matured for the next five years. "
