The Erdener Treppchen is one of the Mosel’s most storied vineyards - a dramatic, south-facing amphitheatre of steep slate terraces that has been producing world-class Riesling for centuries. Its name, meaning “little steps,” comes from the narrow stone paths that wind their way up the slope, and it’s this extreme landscape that gives the wine its unmistakable character.
In the glass, the 2022 vintage is bright and finely tuned. Notes of white peach, green apple and citrus peel glide across a lightly off-dry palate, with a subtle mineral edge from the slate soils carrying the finish. Delish.
