FIVE STAR PRODUCER | Robert Parker
18/20 | Raymond Chan
The wine is full-bodied and has very appealing red fruit driven aromas. On the palate, fresh and youthful with raspberry and cherry flavours, combined with a long and intense finish.
Lashings of fruit sweetness at first but allied with a well-judged acid backbone. A seamless and complete ruby port that represents a perfect introduction to fortified wine.
Raymond Chan writes "Aged in cask on average 3 years, 19.0% alc. Dark ruby-red colour, the nose shows fresh, vibrant, ripe black and red fruit aromas with good depth and richness. Sweet to taste, soft dark red berry fruits are the feature, the ripeness and lush richness balanced with clean alcohol cut and underlined by very restrained tannins. This has good freshness and vitality, the acidity discreet, but the richness and sweetness remains prevalent. The wine finishes with a slightly drying, textured finish. This is a ripe, richly fruited Ruby with good freshness."
