BOLD AND SPICY, OLD VINE ZIN FROM CALIFORNIA'S FAMED LODI SUB-REGION.
Seeing wine of this calibre under $20 is red letter day for any zinfandel fan.
FIVE STARS 94/100 Sam Kim "A delectably appealing wine"
Zinfandel fans will fall hard for this one. The 2020 Clay Creek is a robustly flavoured wine where sun-ripened cherries, blueberries and plums take turns with flavours of milk chocolate and coconut. Subtle accents of pepper and spice sit behind the fat 'Christmas cake' palate tones while notes of vanilla mix with creamy acidity on the finish.
It's a big, fulsome, delicious glass of red and with the price of Californian wines on the rise in the Kiwi market, it's obvious value under $20 on case buys. We know you won't be disappointed.
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "A delectably appealing wine, showing dark and purple fruit aromas with nuances of floral, hazelnut, olive and cocoa on the nose. The palate displays excellent weight and succulent fruit flavours, beautifully complemented by plush texture and silky tannins. Flavoursome and satisfying."
