Chateau Maucoil Cotes du Rhone 2023

This Cotes du Rhone Villages is seriously something special. Produced by Chateau Maucoil (one of the 9 oldest houses of Chateauneuf-du-Pape) who have been producing wine since 1624 - that's older than New Zealand! 
It has fine concentration and loads of character, beautifully aromatic with rich black fruit on the nose. This is a very approachable Rhone style, juicy on the palate and with very good length - making it a perfect match to grilled meats and cheeses.

The Cotes du Rhone Villages appellation was introduced in 1966 and now applies to 16 in the southern Rhone Valley. Wines made under the appellation must meet higher standards than those of the plain Cotes de Rhone title, and are from areas that show potential to produce distinctive wine of a high standard.
