97 POINTS | Huon Hooke, The Real Review
Carefully selected fruit from the Les Belles Voyes Grand Cru vineyard in Oger was used for this prestigious release. 2013 was an exceptional vintage in Champagne and the best barrels were blended together to create the Belles Voyes Cuvee.
Les Belles Voyes is a rich, full-bodied champagne with butter / brioche notes and delicate acidity. Absolutely stunning.
The winery writes "A beautiful introduction from the first pastry scents that come around a controlled gluttony. Evolution notes are here, butter aromas take over, wide and generous. The volume of wine, rich and fat, comes to surround fresher notes, minty and iodized. The frame of 2013 is recognizable, marked by the Bonville style and the Belles Voyes style with its light and aerial oxygenation. Real wine of gastronomy, we enjoy tasting it the easiest way too: sharing it between friends, sitting on the low wall of the eponymous plot on Oger’s heights."
Huon Hooke writes "Full straw-yellow colour with tints of gold, the bouquet is very rich and multi-faceted, evoking scents of aged white Burgundy and mature Vin Jaune, aged under flor. A trace of poached pears. The palate is very full and rich as well as very dry, appetisingly lip-smacking, the richness of the middle-palate flavour perfectly balancing the substantial tannin grip. An impressive wine, the aftertaste blossoming and billowing like a peacock's tail."
