Vinted from fruit sourced from a hillside vineyard in the beautiful Tuki Tuki Valley, this is a plush and flavour packed straight merlot from master winemaker Peter Robertson. Named after the original Burnfoot vineyard, this wine reflects both heritage and precision.
In the glass, it reveals deep ruby hues and inviting aromas of ripe plum, black cherry, and subtle cocoa, layered with hints of spice and toasted oak. The palate is rich and supple, with velvety tannins carrying flavours of dark berries, mocha, and a touch of savoury earthiness. A well-balanced structure leads to a smooth, lingering finish.

The winery writes "The 2020 vintage was hot and dry, hence it was an ideal season for the Burnfoot Merlot. Ripe plum, black fruits, dried herbs, spice and French oak are evident and contribute to this savoury wine. The 2020 Burnfoot Merlot will pair with lamb, beef or venison and equally the humble Spaghetti Bolognaise."
