FIVE STARS 93/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit - "Succulent and supple"
93/100 | Raymond Chan Wine Reviews
Classic syrah from one of Hawkes Bay's oldest boutique wineries. After six months in oak barrels it has developed enticing savoury flavours – the oak is integrated and seamless. Rich and fragrant with intensity and weight. This wine totally over-delivers.

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Sweetly ripe and complex, the wine shows dark plum, cherry, cured meat, toasted spice, and hazelnut aromas on the nose. It's succulent and supple in the mouth, delivering a plump mouthfeel, well supported by silky tannins, making it robust and sturdy with savoury nuances. At its best: now to 2032."
Candice Chow writes "Deep ruby-red with a deep purple core, slightly lighter on the rim. The nose is appealing, with aromas of blackberry, cherry, violet and spice. Medium-full bodied, with aromas of blackberry and cherry, interwoven with violet, cigar leaf and black pepper. The fruit is beautifully ripe with juicy acidity, unfolding floral fragrance. Soft, silky tannins lightly coated the bright fruit, layering gentle spice and cigar leaf nuances, lending a pleasing finish. This Syrah boasts a pure, youthful expression, ready for early consumption. Match with lamb rack and beef brisket over the next 5 years."
