93/100 'Excellent' | Cameron Douglas MS
The much loved Black Barn Estate Release Chardonnay has been further developed by winemaker Dave McKee and now has some subtle oak influence to support the creamy palate weight that this wine has always been known for. Some nice flinty aromatics add a modern touch and further complexity - but this chardonnay retains the easy charm on which its popularity has long been based. A real winner.

Cameron Douglas MS writes "Aromas and flavours of roasted stone fruits and barrel spice, cashew nut and a light wood smoke quality. A satin-cream touch with a back bone of acidity and flavours that reflect the bouquet deliver a wine with some concentration and complexity. Medium+ acid line, fine wood tannins and a lees complexity adding mouthfeel, breadth and length. A dry finish with flavours of grapefruit and white peach, nut and spice."
