The name Bilancia (Libra in Italian) came to winemaker Warren Gibson whilst reading his horoscope during a harvest in Italy, and his winemaking philosophy centres on balance, equilibrium and harmony.
Warren & Lorraine share a wealth of winemaking experience between them and this expertise shows, as Bilancia has been producing award winning wines since 1997. Hailiong from the 2022 vintage, this single vineyard chardonnay from Central Hawk'es Bay was wild fermented in oak barriques, resulting in a textural wine that combines ripe fruit flavours with a core seam of minerality and fine lees complexity. A truly outstanding wine from an exceptional winemaking team.

Cameron Douglas MS writes "Pure, ripe, fruity, fresh, elelgant and alluring bouquet. Aromas of ripe white peach and pear, fresh red apple and a core seam of minerality and fine lees complexity. A wine of texture and mouthfeel with a vibrato and quiver as the wine touches the palate, an umani with flavours of lemon and peach, apple and lees and barrel spice. Very lengthy, fine and high quality. Great drinking from 2023 through 2029."
