SILVER | Royal Easter Show Wine Awards 2020
What a winner this Beach House blend is. The 3 previous vintages each took out the Cabernet Dominant Red Wine Trophy at the Hawkes Bay Wine Awards and the 2016 is sure to be another brilliant performer in the show rounds. This is robustly weighted, dense and powerful wine from a producer who always puts a lot of flavour in the bottle. The 2016 is already approachable but will be a cellar star for those who chose to lay this deserving wine down. It's an absolutely amazing bargain for anyone looking for top flight Hawkes Bay red wine at an affordable price point.
Punchy dark fruit flavours are underpinned by firm tannin structure and creamy rounded acidity on the finish.
Sam Kim writes "This is attractively composed and elegantly expressed, showing dark plum, blackcurrant, dried herb, warm spice and cedar characters on the nose, leading to a succulent palate that is gently weighted and supple. The wine offers lovely harmony and spicy nuances, firmly structured by fine, powdery tannins."
