4.5 STARS 91/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
90 POINTS | Cameron Douglas MS
Ant Moore's new a+ range focuses on creating premium, small batch wines that capture the bright, vibrant notes of the Marlborough fruit.
This 2020 pinot noir is another excellent addition to the a+ line up. The palate carries bright red berry notes with subtle earthiness in support. Silky smooth tannins add to a long, textured finish. Excellent wine.
The winery writes "This classy Pinot Noir has an earthy bouquet and a silky smooth but generous inky fruit richness on the palate, and a layered texture with fine tannins. Exquisitely matched with venison cutlets topped with glazed cherries."
Sam Kim writes "Youthfully charming and brightly fragrant, the bouquet shows sweet cherry, floral, almond and olive notes, leading to an elegantly weighted palate that's juicy and silky-smooth. Beautifully rounded and lingering with succulent flavours."
Cameron Douglas MS writes "Bright, fresh, lifted, fruity, varietal and new. Aromas and flavours of fresh red cherry and apple skin, some light red plum scents along with cranberry and red rose. Lightweight, crisp, refreshing and dry with flavours that reflect the bouquet, fine fruit tannins and crunchy refreshing acidity. Balanced, well made and ready to drink."
