FIVE STARS 95/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
93 POINTS | Cameron Douglas MS
Excellent Pinot Gris from an iconic producer. Off dry and bursting with peach and pear flavours and a tickle of spice, this gris has been partially barrel fermented to give a perfectly balanced wine. Highly recommended.
Sam Kim writes "Fabulously styled and delightfully expressed, the bouquet shows nectarine, rockmelon, fresh pear and white floral characters, leading to a succulent palate that is superbly weighted and smooth. It is elegantly opulent with vibrant fruit intensity and creamy texture, finishing persistent and delicious. Seriously good."
The winery writes "Ripe handpicked fruit and gentle winemaking have given a wonderfully balanced wine. 36% of the juice was barrel fermented in older French oak barrels with the balance fermented in stainless steel tank. The wine shows delightful aromas of ripe pear, brioche and honeysuckle, with white peach, pear, spice and a hint of salted caramel on the palate. This off dry wine is best served slightly chilled."
